Randie To Curate Art for First Friday Art Tour @Big Basin Vineyards Tasting Room and Wine Bar

So I have a new gig! I'm still making art don't get me wrong, but i'm excited to be part of First Friday in Santa Cruz... a monthly art walk taking place on the first Friday of the month. I'll be curating the art for the newest project of Bradley Brown, owner and founder of Big Basin Vineyards, at his new Tasting Room and Wine Bar at 525 Pacific Ave, Downtown Santa Cruz CA.

While initially inviting me to present my own work there, I got inspired to involve some other great artists around town who's work I love. I mean, I WILL get around to presenting more glass work there-- I finished two mosaic pieces for the wine bar this summer, fire-pit table tops built for their patio-- but with little stock left after my big Open Studios show, i decided to reach out to a few of my favorite artists in town. Bradley started the tour off in September showing his beautiful metal prints of his photos taken of the winery and property around it.

This months opening reception is on Friday November 4th, 5:30-8:30pm and features Hedwig Heerschop, a Dutch-American artist working with a photo-etching process. She will be presenting her new work, a series of Sunflowers and also some etchings of Amsterdam life. I have five other artist lined up for the next few months and am so excited to be part of the First Friday Art Tour, and be able to show off the incredible talent we have here in Santa Cruz.

So come on down to see the show!
