This 53" in diameter fused glass sun, consists of 8 panels suspended by a custom steel frame. it hangs on the side of a residence which overlooks the Trescony Street Community Gardens and Park on the Westside of Santa Cruz, CA. The homeowner wanted to provide a piece of public art that mimics the sunflowers often grown in the garden in the summer. An avid gardener herself, she long wanted a sun for that location and when she saw my art, she commissioned me to create this unique piece for her.
